Live Life Longer

Want to be healthier, stress free and enjoying every minute of life?  Take part in ECU's staff health & wellness program 'Live Life Longer'.  There are a wide range of activities to choose from to help you lead a more active, yet relaxed lifestyle, including information sessions with nutritional advice.  We spend at least a third of our day at work so it's a great place to start changing behaviour in a positive way to 'Live Life Longer'.

Online recruitment closer to deployment

The introduction of the online recruitment system to assist managing the hiring of staff at ECU is in the configuration phase. This customisation will ensure the system reflects ECU’s specific hiring practices before it is deployed throughout the University.

Essential to its successful deployment is the integration with ALESCO (ECU’s HR information system), providing efficiencies in information management and importantly, benefits to hiring managers.

It is anticipated that the configured system will be available later this year, with a phased roll-out planned through early 2010.

Reach Your Potential

ECU has a new staffing strategy being implemented in 2008 called ‘Reach Your Potential’ echoing the student campaign. This strategy will see the introduction of a range of measures and programmes designed to ensure that staff working for ECU can access support to ‘reach their potential’ at work and beyond. It is based upon the premise that even in a competitive labour market and employer that offers more than ‘just a job’ will attract and retain high-quality staff. The results from a recent staff survey about flexible working arrangements will be analysed and it is hoped that this information will enable the University to customise its workplace arrangements to better suit it’s workforce and provide the circumstances where staff are able to fulfil their potential for high performance and in so doing enable ECU to realise its strategic goals.
